Club News and Highlights
Grand Slam Winner Masterclass. On 20th of July, we were delighted to host a Doubles Masterclass with Grand Slam Winner David O’ Hare ( brother of club member Mark O’Hare) for over 30 attendees. David coaches the UK Doubles Team who have won several Grand Slams and he plays on the Irish doubles team in the Davis Cup. This was a great experience and attendees learned techniques and patterns to take out doubles play to the next level.
Launch of Club Inclusion Project SULT. On 4th of September , we launched our new Sports Inclusion Programme called SULT (an Irish word for fun and enjoyment). The goal of the programme is to provide tennis coaching to adults and children with special and additional needs. There is no charge for course participants. Our coach is Anna Land — a licensed, vetted tennis coach with 20 years’ experience in special education sports. The first participants are from Bray Lakers and the local Powerscourt National School. The programme runs until Christmas and it has been funded from our own resources and some generous support from Tennis Ireland and Wicklow Sports Partnership.
On Sunday 21st September, we celebrated the Official Opening of our new court surfaces alongside our Senior Club Championship Finals- our first for nearly twenty years. The day was filled with excitement, competitive spirit, and community pride. Spectators and players alike enjoyed the fantastic atmosphere, marking a memorable milestone for our club.
We have three doubles floodlit courts located in the Bog Meadow, Enniskerry. These courts were built and are proudly operated and maintained by Enniskerry Tennis Club. Membership fees are key to ensuring the financial sustainability of our club. Courts are open from 8 am to 10pm each day.
