Enniskerry Tennis Club has adopted and implemented the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport as set out by Tennis Ireland as an integral part of club policy on children and club membership. Upon joining the Club or renewal of annual membership, all members agree to abide by the Club’s Codes of Conduct.
The Club Children’s Officers are available should any member have any questions or require any assistance in relation to child protection in the club. The Club Children’s Officers for Enniskerry Tennis Club are Belinda Briggs ( also Designated Liaison Person) and Una Cusack.
Note that Enniskerry Tennis Club does not accept responsibility for independent recreational play e.g. two juniors arriving at the club on their own to play a game or children being left unsupervised. It is strongly recommended that if children are playing in the club independently of the club’s organised activities, that a parent/guardian stays with them for the duration of the activity.
Rules
We are open for new members who can apply via our website. People are welcome to use the courts in the Bog Meadow subject to the following rules:
- The game of tennis shall be played according to the rules laid down by the Lawn Tennis Association of Ireland.
- Only tennis shoes be worn on court; no person shall be allowed play except in rubber-soled shoes without spikes or heels.
- Courts are for tennis and pickleball only and no other activities shall be permitted on the courts.
- If there are members waiting to play, no court may be occupied past the existing booking.
- Chewing gum, pets, football and other sporting activities are strictly prohibited on the courts.
- Professional coaching is not permitted at any time without the expressed permission of the Enniskerry Tennis Club committee.
- Take your rubbish with you or dispose of it in the bins outside the courts.
- You will be responsible for any damage you incur to the court.
- The Committee shall have the right to reserve any court for the purpose of playing tournament matches or any other purpose needed.
We are a community-based tennis club run by volunteers and ask for your co operation in relation to the above rules.
